Upcoming Dates

September 3: First day of school, Grades 1-5

September 9: First day of school, Kindergarten

Dear Families,

We hope you have had a wonderful summer so far and are finding ways to stay cool with this amazing sunshine. The Eastgate staff has been busy over the summer spending time with family, engaging in professional development though online classes and reading, and many of our staff have participated in supporting students in summer learning during Summer School and our Eastgate Reading Club. We’re making the best of a different type of summer but are looking forward to all that comes with the start of the school year, even with a virtual start.

We recognize starting in remote or virtual learning will come with unique challenges and we will work to ensure you are informed and up to date as information is shared. In addition to the information coming from the Bellevue School District, we will be sending Eastgate specific information. Currently the Bellevue School District is gathering information from all families regarding your Intent to Enroll. Additionally, you can find all BSD updates for Fall Return to school HERE.

When we return in September, based on your choice, your child will be enrolled in one of two learning models:

  1. Temporary Remote Learning/Hybrid Learning
  • Families that opt to participate in a Hybrid Learning model will begin school in a Temporary Remote Learning model with the plan to move to the Hybrid Learning model when infection rates are significantly lower.
  1. BSD Virtual Learning
  • Families that opt to participate in 100% remote are enrolled in the BSD Virtual Learning model and will remain there for the first semester.

If you have not already done so, please complete the Intent to Enroll form for each student by August 2 at 6 p.m.

We continue to appreciate your support during these unprecedented times. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

May Pelto, Principal

Family Connections Center

The Bellevue School District Family Connections Centers (FCCs) will be open for the summer (until August 31). Each site will be operational four days per week and days will be staggered in order to provide accessible sites Monday through Friday. FCCs will provide families with shelf-stable food to prepare at home and some fresh produce (depending on availability), as well as hygiene items as needed. Staff will also continue to provide families with information about resources and services available in Bellevue.

The Bellevue School District will continue to provide free meals to any child 18 and younger during the summer. Our nutrition program will be offered at four locations, in addition to the two sites previously announced. Meals will be provided Monday through Thursday from June 29 through August 13.
