April Showers bring May flowers… and boy did we have enough showers for multiple bouquets of flowers this past month!  I am hoping for a lot of sun and flowers blooming this May in my garden!  We continue to work every day as we move closer to our opening in late August.  As of late, you probably have seen the outside of the building, including siding and windows get installed.  Inside they are continuing to work on finishing out the classrooms and hallways!  I have to say, my favorite part thus far is the colored glass that is being put in along side the regular windows!

Wilburton Elementary School PTA

On April 3 our community voted to have a Parent Teacher Association at Wilburton Elementary School!  We are excited about this partnership and the ways we can work together to support our students and community.

Next up is the PTA Planning Meeting.  The Wilburton PTA Planning meeting will be on May 3 at International School (in the library) from 6-7pm.  ALL are welcome to come and learn more about the forming of our Wilburton PTA.  We hope to see you there!

Questions?  Contact the Bellevue PTSA Council at bellevueptsacouncil@gmail.com.

The WSPTA, Region 2 and Bellevue PTSA Council are here to help Wilburton Elementary School Community in forming our PTA (Parent Teacher Association).

Wilburton Question and Answer Sessions

Do you have questions about Wilburton Elementary that you want answered?  Do you have ideas to share?  Principal Beth Hamilton along with other Wilburton staff members will be traveling to multiple sites in our neighborhood holding “open office hours” during the month of May. This is a time for you to come, introduce yourself, get your questions answered, and share your ideas!  The format will be informal  and will consist of a meet/greet and unstructured time to share ideas and get your questions answered as individuals or small group settings. We hope to see you there!  As well, we will hold two virtual calls that will be the same format. These will be in the middle of the day and anyone with the link below can join the call in from where ever you are using Skype.

Please join the Wilburton Staff for an hour of fun, playing and Ice cream at the downtown Bellevue Park for our Ice Cream Social!  We will also be unveiling our MASCOT and COLORS during this time!  We hope to see you there!

Time:  7-8PM

Location: Downtown Bellevue Park, near the Play Area

Do you have some books at your house that your children are done reading?  Consider donating them to Wilburton Elementary for use in classroom libraries!  We can never have too many books for our classrooms (in addition to our brand new school library). We are looking for new or gently used books that would be appropriate for students ages 5-12 to add to our classroom libraries.  You can bring them to the Ice Cream Social in the Park and drop them in the Book Boxes!    Our students and staff thank you for considering this donation.

Registration and Enrollment

Are you new to our district in grades K-5 and live in the Wilburton attendance area?  OR perhaps you met a new neighbor that needs to register? Please make sure to register as soon as possible so we know you will be part of our family!  Registering early helps us with our planning, staffing, and class placement.

To register, you can find information on the BSD website. As well, you can always call or email our Office Manager, Meghan Bechthold to set up an appointment to ensure you have all your registration taken care of!
